GR Friends Clerk
Hello Friends,
As you know, Grand Rapids Friends Meeting is in the process of leaving the Aquinas College Browne Center, which has been our home for over 20 years, and relocating to a new Meeting place. Our "ad hoc" committee for the move has spent several weeks exploring various opportunities. After much consideration and a Spirit led sense of the Meeting, we are announcing that GRFM has accepted an offer from Fountain Street Church, located at 24 Fountain Street NE, to use 2 rooms on their lower level, one space for Meeting for Worship and another for First Day School. Our rooms will be located across the hall from the new offices of the Institute for Global Education (IGE). ![]()
Our first in person/hybrid Meeting for Worship at our new Fountain Street home will be Sunday, July 13. We will hold MFW on zoom only on July 6.![]()
Please note: We will continue to hold Meeting for Worship at the Browne Center two more times, this Sunday, June 22nd and for the last time on Sunday, June 29th, at which time we will share our heartfelt appreciation for our many years there. ![]()
Meanwhile: We would like to invite anyone who can join us, following Worship this Sunday (22nd), to help us move our Meeting supply cabinet and a few other things to Fountain Street Church. When we arrive, we'll have a brief "Welcome & Orientation" to introduce everyone to our new space and explain how we plan to use it for our Worship and other activities. Our plan is to depart from the Browne Center around 12:00 or 12:30, and be finished at Fountain Street Church around 1:30 or 2:00. We'll have a wayfinding map for everyone, including directions for free parking.![]()
Thank you so much to everyone who served on the ad hoc committee, and to all of you for being so supportive during this challenging but exciting time for our Meeting community. ![]()
We hope to see you on Sunday!
